Canyon Cove

The family spent a day trip to Canyon Cove at Nasugbu, Batangas. Having been there a year ago, we knew what to expect with regards to the facilities. The drive to Nasugbu was pleasant and we reached Batangas after three hours, passing through SLEX, and exiting at Sta. Rosa en route to Nasugbu.

A new wing of rooms had been recently opened; these offered spacious rooms with balconies and great views. There was ample open-parking for the guests. The resort had a huge infinity pool that was divided into sections with different depths.

Food was average; the only ala-carte dishes available were pasta and sandwiches, unlike before when we were able to order Filipino food. The lunch buffet featured fish, chicken, pork, pasta, soup and vegetables, but most appeared and tasted over-cooked and smothered with sauces.

The trip back to Manila was horrible. It took three and a half-hours to reach Sta. Rosa amidst crawling traffic from Batangas to Tagaytay, and another stretch of slow-moving traffic going towards Sta. Rosa. After a stop-over and dinner at Paseo, it was another two hour ride back to the city via SLEX. Traffic was fast-moving until after the Bicutan exit when the cars slowed down again on account of the construction of certain lanes at the SLEX.
